There are a number of restoration projects taking place. Some involve work on steam locomotives and others on passenger cars, track work and building maintenance. Volunteers are needed for all projects and you are welcome to join the museum as a Participating Member to meet our insurance requirements and become eligible to work on projects. No special skills are required, and many of our volunteers have learned new skills working on projects. Click on the links below for more information on each project

The FRA mandates periodic boiler tube replacement in steam locomotives,and we are asking for donations to raise funds to complete this project.We all want to see #2472 back in operation soon. We need to raise about $200K to complete the job in a timely manner.
